Open air to the climb, open air back home.

MM Workshop Mallorca
Just back from a workshop on Mallorca with a great new client.
Two intense days in meetings ended with a hike to the top of Alaro.
Middle of November, 25 degrees at 1000 meters. Not bad. Thanks to all.

Nosh Nibble & Cush opened this week and it's probably no surprise that we were behind the name and concept of the restaurant. From what I have heard, the food is fantastic but few people can pronounce the name and some have even said it doesn't sound Swedish (really?). This is perfect, entirely perfect indeed. Naush Nipple & Cash. Behind the project is Richard Bornefors (Torso Twisted) and his wife Hadiza. In the kitchen you'll find Wade, an Aussie who can cook, and who I say is from Melbourne but he swears he is from Sydney. Whatever Wade.

Sound business logic isn't always defined by finely scripted power point presentations. Sometimes all it takes is simple motivation.

Dharma Bum open first shop
Ann-Sofie and Susanne have been busy the past few weeks preparing for the opening of their first boutique on the road to Surin Beach on Phuket Isand. Very cool stuff in a very cool pink building.

Working on the development of the Surin Beach Yacht Club on Phuket Island and after an afternoon meeting at the Amanpuri, the question came up. How cool is a black pool? The jury was split.

TorsoTwisted unveiled an addition to their menu this year. Grand Poobah’s Secret Vault is a list of some extremely rare delicacies that can be found in few places. The Grand Poobah himself walks down into the catacombs to bring out the deepest darkest specialties. Truly remarkable.

We've been working on developing our own brand of ice cream and so Ben and Jerry's has always been a source of inspiration. In Scandiland it appears to be growing wildly, with Ben and Jerry fridges popping up in every little corner shop. On a recent trip the States, however I realized the difference in choice. In Sweden there are about 8 flavors. In Oregon there are about 5,000.

Almost September
Is there any place in the world where anyone would rather be?

Dharma Bum
A few months ago we did some conceptual work for a company in Thailand called Dharma Bum, or it wasn't called anything really until we came up with the name. Dharma bum is an interesting brand because it is entwined into the desires of people and what they want to get out of their lives. There's a side of us that feels the need to do good, and there's another side that is totally content with spending the entire day eating pineapple on the beach. Dharma Bum’s first shop will open in Phuket in time for the winter season and will be followed by a string of boutiques both in Asia and Europe. Check out the website, produced in Thailand at .

Estaban showed up in Palma with the nine four in camo sea blue. He's been working on it for a few weeks. So, how did it ride? Super, super sweet.

Mallorca gets something like 12 million tourists every summer. Yet you can still find places where you won't find a single one of them even in the middle of July. Surfing the secret spot with no one in sight, clean 3 feet and offshore at sunset.

Happy 4th
Can't figure any better way to spend the day celebrating freedom from the British than keeping a reliable distance from Magaluf. Happy burgers and weiners to all!

No matter how sweet it is to avoid jellies while waking behind the MasterCraft there is added sense of adventure when ending up behind the carbon fiber wheel of an O.P.B. Half mile offshore sailing at 8 knots.

No Gringos
Nobody knows who puts these up around Tamarindo but the influx of gringos have given the beach town its well earned name Tamagringo. This peaceful experiment in freedom of speech is a healthy example that not everyone is interested in the power of the American dollar. I am still trying to figure out if Canadians are gringos too. Bitchin' graphics.

Apparently Starbucks is planning on opening more than 1000 outlets in China before the next Olympics. While a double tall latte will cost about the same in Gunagzhou as it does in Copenhagen, the cost of personnel is only about 3% in China. There are a lot of people in China, maybe the ones from Nebraska will be able to afford that double tall. There are also a lot of lights on that building. Maybe the owner should visit
Sweden has to be the perfect country for pursuing indoor occupations. The darkness, wind and rain keep people from wandering around outdoors for 9 months a year. Just think if your dream is to be a lifeguard. That would be a real downer, unless you enjoy chlorine scented swimming halls.
